freedom is not free.jpg (10998 bytes) I am not a veteran, but I am a daughter who is very proud of her father's service to this country and equally proud of the service of all veterans. Although my father and relatives served in WW II, my friends served in Vietnam.

I still remember, so vividly, the day I met a dear friend at the airport when he returned home from Vietnam.  I can still feel the hugh hug he gave me and the touch of his hand in mine as we made the long drive home. I prayed, "Thank you, God, for his safe return". I knew that others were not so fortunate and would not be praying these words.  At the wars end, I realized that some families still had not and could not pray these words. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that in 2002 there would still be families waiting, and waiting, and waiting.....wanting to say the final prayer, but not knowing which prayer to say........

2,047 POW/MIA(s) are still missing from Vietnam. But, not only Vietnam. 8,100 Servicemen are missing  from Korea, thousands are unaccounted for from WW II, and too many from our other wars. The numbers are staggering.  Two of the missing are my relatives.

Only when we, as American citizens, become so outraged and demand answers from our Government, will something be done.  Only then will our servicemen come Home.  Only then will families have closure and be able to say their final prayer.  These families do not deserve the cruelty of the unknown, the unanswered questions.  Put yourself in their place.  Imagine what it must be like day after day, month after month, year after year.....

The MIAs must be accounted for. The uncertainty has lasted too long.

And, any serviceman of this Country damn sure does not deserve to be left in a country as a POW. This is a national disgrace, at best. We owe it to them to bring them Home.

Please join me. Together, we can determine the final prayer. I pray it will be:  "Thank you God for finally giving me an answer and ending my torment".
