The following names of Revolutionary War Soldiers were compiled from photostatic copies of the original muster rolls and pension declarations in the National Archives and the Archives of the Virginia State Library. The majority of the names, however, have been taken from the Minute Books of Fauquier County, especially the Minutes for the years 1773-1780 and 1781-1784. A Complete list of these was made by the late Sadie Bartenstein, Deputy Clerk of the Court from 1927 until her death in 1956.
